Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announces the postponement of the ISC exam for class 12th due to the surge in covid-19 cases across the nation and the cancellation and postponement of CBSE class 10 and 12 exams. Also, the committee makes ICSE class 10 exam 2021 elective for students, which means that the students can appear for these board exams whenever they are conducted, or they will be awarded the marks as per a fair and unbiased criterion to be developed by the council.
Previously, the ICSE exams were scheduled to be conducted on May 4 and June 7, 2021, for the 10th class. For the 12th class, the exams had already been started on April 8, 2021, and scheduled to be ended on June 18, 2021. Now, the ISC board exams have been postponed until further notice.
The Class 10 exams which were scheduled to be held from May 4, 2021, and 12 exams that have already been started from April 8, 2021, have been deferred. The CISCE's chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon said that "We will closely monitor the situation and review it in the first week of June to take a final decision on the conduct of examination,". "While Class 12 exams will be conducted at a later stage, Class 10 students will get an option to either appears in offline exams later or get evaluated on basis of fair and unbiased criteria to be developed by the board," Arathoon added.
