Masters of Design (M.Des) is a professional postgraduate academic degree for those who have a keen interest in the artistic field. It comes up with a duration of 2 years. For pursuing such a degree, students have completed a bachelor's degree in a relevant stream. It teaches the students about real-world based techniques, industry-specific theories, and design skills through projects so that one learns the nitty-gritty to the core.

M.Des helps the students to understand the effect of technology on design and how to manufacture these designs and to make them user-friendly. During the master’s program, students learn about various design specializations such as architectural designs, automation designs, fashion designs, and others. It helps the students develop their research skills, enhance their experimental practice, construction techniques, equipment and material, and portfolio skills about their respective specialization in design.

Eligibility of M.Des Courses

For taking admission in Masters of Design (M.Des)

  • Candidates must have B.Des/B.FTech degree in relevant discipline from a recognized institute or university with a minimum aggregate marks criteria provided by the examining authority of government, universities/institutes, etc.
  • Relaxation of 5% is provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Other Backward classes.
