B.Optom or Bachelor in Optometry is an undergraduate program in the field of optometry. The course comes up with a duration of 4 years. B.Optom Optometry is a branch of medicine that helps optometrists to deals with the diagnosis, examination, management, and treatment of diseases and disorders of the visual system.
B.Optom aims to provide ability and knowledge in the rectify of refractive state of eye and prescription of glasses, designing and fitting contact lenses, aniseikonic lenses, and low vision aids, public health optometry–education on ocular hygiene and related nutritional and environmental counseling, visual rehabilitation, follow-up of low vision patients, and so on.

B.Optom Eligibility
The Eligibility Criteria for admission in B.Optom are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and biology or equivalent with a minimum aggregate marks criteria provided by the examining authority of government, universities/institutes, etc.
- Relaxation of 5% is provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Other Backward classes.
B.Optom Entrance Exam
B.Optom is an undergraduate degree in the field of Optometry that comes up with a duration of 4 years. For admission in the B.Optom course, almost every other institute or university in India select candidates according to the merit list prepared based on entrance exam scores and ranks.
NEET UG: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG), is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. NEET-UG became a common all India entrance test for admissions to medical colleges in India including the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) which till yet conducted separate entrances.
