IGNOU BEd Entrance Test [ IGNOU B.Ed ]

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) B.Ed entrance exam is a national level entrance exam held across India. It is conducted by the National Test Agency (NTA). IGNOU is scheduled twice a year. This entrance exam offers admissions to the candidates in various B.Ed programs. Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Post Graduate Diplomas, and Degrees are offered by the university. Since this year, the exam is being conducted by NTA.

This entrance exam is organized in two parts: Generally, the first session in January and the second one in July. The exam is multiple choice questions based and has 100 total question. The duration of the entrance test is of 2 hours. Admissions into B.Ed will be offered through the scores scored in these IGNOU B.Ed entrance exams. The IGNOU B.Ed is a two-year bachelor's degree program. This graduation involves certain courses worth 84 credits. Each of this credit is equivalent to the total of 30 hours of lectures which consist of all the learning activities. The total admission fee for B.Ed in IGNOU is Rs. 50,000/-

Important dates for IGNOU B.Ed 2021

The application will start from the last week of February 2021.

The last date for the application form will be around the 2nd week of May 2021

Availability of admit card to the candidates will start from May 2021.

The exam's final dates will be around May 2021 this year due to the pandemic-induced issues.

Eligibility conditions for IGNOU B.Ed

•Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 50 percent marks. The Bachelor’s Degree and/or the Master’s Degree can be in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Candidate may even hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology coupled with a specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks. One can even hold any such equivalent qualification to apply.

•Candidates who have passed grade 12th or equivalent from a recognized board.

•The candidates must have a complete BCA or graduate degree with mathematics at 10+2 level from any recognized university.

•PG Diploma in Rural Development from a recognized university is also eligible.

•Diploma in Tourism Studies/Diploma in Dairy Technology: Must have passed 12th standard or equivalent exam or BPP from IGNOU.

•MA (English/Economics/History), MSW can also apply those to hold a bachelor degree or any higher degree from any recognized university.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD categories will have a relaxation of 5% in the eligibility requirements for general candidates. Also, relaxations will be given to Kashmiri migrants and war widow candidates as per the rules of the university.

Application fees for IGNOU B.Ed:

The online registration fee for the entrance exam is RS. 1000/- and the offline payment via demand draft/post is Rs. 1050/-

The mode of payment for online payment of fees is debit card, credit card, net banking through a payment gateway.

Online Application Process for IGNOU B.Ed 2021

The first step is to visit the IGNOU website and read the Information Brochure very carefully to learn about the eligibility criteria and other information.

If you are eligible, click on the “REGISTER YOURSELF” button and register. Fill in all the registration details that are asked for.

After completing the form with registration details, click on the “SUBMIT” button. After submitting the form, check your mail inbox. You will find your username.

Login with the username and password. Fill the remaining portals with necessary details Like personal, program, qualification, and correspondence details.

After completing all the given steps, upload your photograph and signature. The photograph should not be less than 100 KB and the signature not less than 50 KB.

Once the photograph and signature are uploaded successfully, pay the application fee through Debit/Credit Card and Net Banking.

Finally, submit your form. One can see the Form preview option. Save/Print the form for future reference.

The applicants can submit the forms via online mode only at https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/

Offline Applications for IGNOU B.Ed 2021

The candidates need to download the application form from the official website and take a print out.

The form can also be collected from the regional center.

The second step is to fill the application after taking a print out.  Once done, the candidate is required to post it at the regional office.

Along with the form, one should without fail get necessary photocopies of important documents for final verification.

Lastly, a demand draft in the favour of Indira Gandhi National Open University that is payable at the city of the regional office is to be deposited.

PREPARATION TIPS TO CRACK IGNOU B.Ed

Begin by going through all the topics of the syllabus in a systematic manner.

Create a personalized time table and divide subjects accordingly.

Try to take various online & offline mock tests available on the internet.

Solving previous years' question papers and sample papers will help in the preparation.

Creating short notes regularly after completing a portion will retain the concept in the candidate’s mind. Therefore, candidates can make notes on various topics by putting tags and sticky notes.

Most importantly, a thorough revision of every single day is an essential part of candidates. It will make them hold on to the topics for a longer time.

 Q. Is there any age limit to apply for the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test?

A. No, there isn’t any age limit to apply for IGNOU teaching entrance exam.

 Q. Is IGNOU B.Ed a full-time or distance education course?

 A. IGNOU B.Ed is a distance education programme that students can complete within two to five years.

Q. Is programme fee refundable? A. Fee once paid shall not get refunded under any circumstances. It is also not adjustable against other programmes of the university.
