DU LLB 2021

The Faculty of Law at the University of Delhi organises the DU LLB 2021 Entrance Examination for candidates looking to seek admission into one of the law programmes offered by the university. The exam is expected to be held in June, mostly in online mode. This examination is held basically for the admission of qualifying candidates into a three-year courses. Candidates must make sure that they go through the necessary rules and regulations and other important details such as the eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, examination pattern, syllabus etc.

DU LLB 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before beginning to fill the application for the BITSAT 2021, it is advised that the candidates go through the following eligibility criteria to avoid the rejection or cancellation of the application form:

  • Candidates in general category should have attained atleast 50% marks in their qualifying degree.
  • Whereas candidates  in SC/ST category must score atleast 40% marks in their qualifying degree.
  • Candidates in  the OBC, PwD and CW categories,must attain a minimum score of 45% in their qualifying degree.
  • For candidates in the General and OBC, they must have a graduation degree or post graduation degree from the University of Delhi or from any other equivalent of University of Delhi anywhere in India or a Foreign country.
  • Candidates that possess a PG degree or are supposed to be appearing for their final year PG degree examination are also eligible to apply for the DU LLB 2021 entrance examination.
  • There are no age restrictions to appear for the examination as per the order of the Supreme Court of India.

Relaxation based on Category

  • Candidates should have scored at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate.
  • Cut-off marks for OBC candidates will be 10% lesser than that of the marks for General candidates in the entrance examination.
  • There will be a relaxation of about 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates which will be allowed to OBC category.
  • There will be a relaxation of about 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates which will be allowed to widows or wards of the defense personnel (CW) category.
  • There will be a relaxation of up to 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates which will be allowed to the candidates that belong to the physically handicapped (PH) category (upon the decision of the Medical Board).

DU LLB Application Procedure

Part 1: Registration for Application Process 

Step 1: Candidates first need to go to the official website of the DU LLB Entrance Examination.

Step 2: Candidates can now begin their new registration.

Step 3: Applicants will have to provide certain credentials, such as:

  • Name of Candidate
  • Official Date of birth
  • Valid Email ID

Step 4: The applicant should then submit these details to move onto the next step.

Step 5: The candidate will be provided a User ID and Password with the help of their registered ID.

Part 2: Filling in of the Application Form

Step 6: Now, the candidate will have to log in with their user ID and password that is priorly provided to the candidate.

Step 7: Then the candidate will get redirected to another page where the details for the application form must be filled.

Step 8: The following details must be filled in the DU LLB Application Form correctly and carefully:-

  • Educational Details
  • Personal Details (must be filled in as per official documents)
  • Communication Details

Part 3: Uploading of Images

Step 9:  Now Candidates will have to make a clear scan of the following documents:

  • Passport size photograph (must be in jpg format).
  • Signature (must be in jpg format).

Syllabus for the DU LLB Entrance Examination 2021

Candidates that are looking to appear for the DU LLB Entrance Exam 2021 must be aware of the syllabus during the preparation for the examination. The syllabus for the UG program can be viewed below:

Section 1 - General Knowledge

Awareness of international and national issues including static General Knowledge. Being up-to-date with the news is very important when it comes to general knowledge. Topics that are discussed in the print and digital media are equally important.

Section 2 - Legal Awareness Aptitude

This part tests the interest towards the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability.

Section 3 - English Language Comprehension

This section comprises of comprehension and grammar. These are designed to test the candidate’s aptitude in English. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their understanding of the passage in the comprehension section. Whereas, in the grammar section, the candidates will be required to fill in the blanks with an appropriate choice ,spot the errors, etc.

Section 4: Analytical Abilities

The questions asked in this section of the examination are made in such a way so as to test the candidate to identify patterns and logical links. These questions will be framed around syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

Preparation Tips for DU LLB Entrance Examination 2021

Candidates should go through the following preparation tips and follow them to score well in the DU LLB entrance examination:

·It is advised that candidates must go through the complete examination pattern and syllabus prescribed by the officials much before the day of the exam.

·Candidates should also solve previous year question papers and sample papers to get exposed to the different types of questions and the examination pattern while also getting used to the time restrictions.

·Candidates should also remember to make an efficient study timetable that gives them the right amount of time to prepare without getting stressed out. They should make sure they follow it on a regular basis.

·Another key factor to remember is that candidates should mainatain a fit and healthy mind and body during the preparation as well as a few days before the examination.

·Along with working towards their strategy for the exam, applicants should also watch out for simple mistakes they can make that could cost them heavily. From carrying the right documents, reaching the examination centre on time to avoiding calculation errors, all these are small things every applicant should keep in mind.

·Keeping the time limitations in mind, it is expected that the applicant should not spend too much time on a single question but also not rush through the questions as it could cause panic.

A : There are three, namely Campus Law Centre (CLC), Law Centre - I (LC-I) and Law Centre II (LC-II) in the University of Delhi.
