DUET 2021

Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is one of the most renowned entrance examinations that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). There are several colleges, most of which are the top colleges of the country, under Delhi University. To get into those colleges, one must sit for DUET. However, there is also an option for merit based admissions. DUET is conducted once a year and the exam duration is 2 hours.

Registration process  

  • As per the timeline provided above, candidates have to register through the official website of DU.
  • The next step is filling the application form, uploading documents and making the payment (debit or credit card or net banking). The application fee will vary according to the category of the aspirant. You can check out the table below. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Application forms will be available online on the official website.
  • Application forms will be available from the first week of March 2021 for UG courses (entrance based).
  • For PG courses, the application forms will be available from the first week of March 2021.
  • Candidates are required to fill all the required details i.e. educational, personal and communication etc.
  • Then they have to upload scanned passport size photograph and signature in the application form.
  • Candidates have to upload their documents in JPG/ JPEG format.
  • There is, however, no need to send any hardcopy of the application form by post.

Eligibility Criteria

For UG Courses:

B.A (Hons) Multi Media and Mass Communication:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed their 10th and 12th class board examinations or any other qualifying examination from any recognized board.
  • Marks: A minimum of 75% marks must be secured by the candidate in the best of four subjects and in English subject 85% marks is a must.

B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematics Innovation):

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th class board examination from any recognized board.
  • Marks: Candidates must obtain minimum of 60% marks in their board or other qualifying examination.
  • Subject: Candidates must have Mathematics as a subject in their 12th class.

PG Courses:

M.Tech (Microwave Electronics):

  • Qualification: Candidates must have B.Tech/ B.E. Electrical/ M.Sc. Physics along with specialization in electronics or any other equivalent degree from any recognized institute.
  • Marks: Candidates are to secure a minimum of 60% marks in their qualifying degree final examination.

M.Com Courses:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed B.Com/ B.A. (Hons.)/ B.Com (Hons.) from any recognized institute.
  • Marks: Candidates must pass with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for OBC, 40% for SC/ ST) in their qualifying examination.

Syllabus  

The syllabus of DUET varies according to the subject that the candidate is applying for. Candidates are to check the syllabus from the website and prepare accordingly. For UG courses, the syllabus will be based on 11th and 12th grade. For PG courses, the syllabus will be based on graduation level coursework.

Sections – General Awareness, Analytical Skills, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Communication Skills (English/Hindi), Current Affairs.

DUET 2021 Exam Pattern for Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

  • Sections: English, Science, Mathematics, Social science and Hindi (of Class 10 level). No descriptive questions will be asked.
  • Language: Both English and Hindi
  • Language: The question paper will be available in two languages - English and Hindi. No descriptive questions will be asked.

The test centres of Delhi University Entrance Test are spread all over the country in cities like:

Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Bhopal, Jammu, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, Greater Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Noida, Gurugram, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Patna, Ranchi, Nagpur, and Varanasi.

Due to the unprecedented pandemic, DUET 2021 will be conducted online. However, there is no official notice regarding so as of yet. It is advisable to keep checking the official website of DU.

  • Getting into DU is many students’ dream. The entrance test is naturally a little difficult considering its reputation. It is important for the candidate to have a good understanding of the subject one is applying for.
  • Depending on the course that you are applying for, your preparation strategy should vary. However, for whichever course you want to take up, a thorough understanding of the syllabus and the exam pattern is important. Hit the college libraries and do as much research as possible.
  • After you get a grip on these, prepare a strategy based on your own needs. Make a routine and no matter what happens, follow it at any cost.
  • Look for old question papers and solve as many as you can. That would give you an idea on the exam pattern and help you decide which topics to stress on.
  • Eat healthy and get enough amount of sleep to process information and also for the best possible outcome.

A. Candidates can select the courses/ colleges at the time of the release of the first cut off. The selection of courses & colleges is only a one-time facility.

Q. Is it mandatory to sit for DUET 2021 to get admission into Delhi University?

A. The candidates applying through entrance based admission have to appear for the DUET entrance test. Otherwise, there is an option for merit-based admission too.
