Healing the Pandemic Mental Effect with Yoga and Meditation

The outbreak of Coronavirus has brought a lot of uncertainty around us. It’s the second wave which has devastated the normal prevailing things around. Though the condition is much better as compared to last month still scientists have predicted that there will be a Third Wave striking our nation. We have been through two lockdown phases. There is a fear inside everybody that you can be infected due to Coronavirus and then it will be a threat leading towards death.

In the current situation everyone should give priority on improving their immunity and to enhance the mental peace. It is famous quotes from medical perspective that – “Prevention is better than cure”. In this regard every student should be spending few hours in Yoga and meditation, it will make them more resistant towards the Coronavirus and can provide mental peace inside their mind which will help them to overcome the negativity being spread due to this prevailing Pandemic.

a.)     Relieves Stress The main benefit of doing Yoga is that it relieves stress. This pandemic has given a lot on mental stress to the students regarding their career and future. Nothing is said to be certain at this moment and no one can predicts what’s going to happen for an upcoming exams or for ongoing semester so unintentionally it is seen that a student is doing overthinking regarding these things and developing stress inside their mind. It can be solved easily by practising Yoga daily. It is just advisable to the students to practice Yoga to get rid of their stress.

b.)    Enhances Immunity The main advantage of Yoga is that at this time it can be considered as the best immunity booster. Breathing in and breathing out is giving you more fresh oxygen which at this time is required more. It is also making our body more resistive towards diseases. The main advantage of yoga is that it is making our lungs stronger which is very much important. One can use Yoga as an immunity booster and can try to add the same in their daily schedule.

c.)     Exercise At this time, one can’t step outside for jogging, cycling and gym. Simultaneously our body needs some physical exercise also to stay fit and to work properly else we will be adding fat globules and it will make us lazy. The chances of adding bad cholesterol is also higher currently with zero physical work while remaining at home. One can practice Yoga as it involves various exercises and can be easily practiced at home.

2.)    Meditation

a.)     Improves Mental Health In this hard time, everyone is suffering from mental pressure. It is very much important to take care of our mental health. It is the thought process and over thinking which can lead to depression to avoid these we should give emphasis to meditation which will improve our mental health and will keep us mentally fit and avoids any kind of depression and negative thoughts.

b.)    Self-Discipline Currently we all are struggling with certain common problems like change in sleep pattern, shortened sleep cycle, change in routine, working from home and studying from home has resulted in lack of fixed routine and lack of self-discipline. These can be brought back in schedule by the self-introspection which one can do at the time of meditation.

Thus, at present times, it is very much important that instead of taking pills and getting admitted into hospitals and struggling to get oxygen cylinders and risking our lives we should be actually focusing and must think about Healing the Pandemic Mental Effect with Yoga and Meditation.
