Let’s go through some of the tips and guidelines before taking the decision of going abroad.

1.  Research on your field of study

It is most important that you take thorough research on your field of study, interest and skill-set before you think of studying abroad. As in this post covid scenario, as most of the things have changed, it is most recommended that one should do their research on the fields like Healthcare, medical research, supply chain, IT, digital industries and manufacturing as they are having higher demand than others now.

2.  Analyzing the current scenario

As during this post-Covid situation one can see that there are certain restrictions on international flights and physical communication in different countries, do make proper research on which countries are providing international students to pursue their degrees on their universities. Apart from that, you should check the visa policies as they are being updated during this pandemic situation.

3.  Planning Economically

The closure of industries, educational institutions and shopping centres during this pandemic time, has put a huge impact on the economy of various countries. This problem has led to a huge change in the fees structure of the courses as well as on the fees of the student accommodations. With planning to study abroad it is quite necessary to keep in mind the accommodation of the student. Before going abroad take care of all these criteria to have a hassle-free abroad study program.

4.  Mental Wellness

It is most important to keep your mental state in a neutral manner when you are going to plan for your abroad studies. It is seen in most cases that students face the problem of getting into stress due to some issues related to their education. During this pandemic situation, with students being uncertain of their careers and with the educational institutes being shut down temporarily, students are facing these problems across the globe. Remember that mental well-being is an integral part of your sound body and sound health. If you’re not mentally sound, there’s no point engrossing yourself in academics.

5.  Switching over to online learning

As in the present scenario, many international universities have put up restrictions over bringing the international students one can try out to switch over to the online mode of teaching. Many reputed universities from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland have rolled out border restrictions for international students but have also opened online classes with pre-recorded lectures, video classes, online assignments and open book exams. It is something that’ll continue for an unforeseeable future until the virus threat is forever gone.

Before taking the decision of planning to study abroad it is also recommended that one should know that most of the international universities want their students coming from different countries to clear out their English language proficiency test. Some of the most essential English language proficiency tests are:

  1. IELTS
  2. TOEFL
  3. CAE
  4. iBT
  5. TEEP
  6. Duolingo English Test and more...

As many universities are shut down due to the pandemic situation, most of the universities are conducting the English language proficiency test via online mode. It is also to be noted that many international universities are conducting their own set of tests. One such university is the EU Business School who has created its own set of tests to ensure the ability of all students ahead of the course start date.

One might be thinking that the job opportunities abroad might have been affected by the Covid pandemic and have incurred a huge loss or it might not be wise to go for a job in a different country during this pandemic time. But it is a very different notion as with many industries going to a loss there are still many sectors that are striving during this pandemic situation. Taking a look at these industries such as eCommerce, healthcare, logistics and home entertainment are all examples of industries that are growing can be a wise option to choose for.
